- I received this fax notice this weekend. Perhaps it's not too late for our
- Japanese colleagues and those who may be traveling in Japan at the time.
- I will report in full on all of my Japanese experiences (including my earlier
- tour of MITI Labs, Tsukuba University, etc.) on my return from the Symposium.

- THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ARTIFICIAL REALITY AND TELE-EXISTENCE
-
-
- Recently, "Artificial Reality" (AR), "Virtual Reality" (VR), and
- "Tele-Existence" technologies have been getting more and more attention.
-
- The realization of AR and VR technologies are sure to have a
- great impact on the way people interface with computers in the fields of
- architecture, medical science, and space development, as well as in
- education and the entertainment world. In consequence, the industrial
- structure of society and human potential will change greatly with the
- increased use of computers.
-
- Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc., is holding the "AR International
- Symposium," joining with the Japan Technology Transfer Association. We
- are aiming to conduct this Symposium to bring together experts, researchers,
- and people in international industries, with an opportunity for communica-
- tion and discussion. We are looking forward to as many participating as
- possible, from across the world.
